In this exercise, you will learn how to teach a simple Linear Weld using the Beacon Welding software.

Once you have completed this exercise, learn how to use radial welds in Exercise 3

Transcript

Setting up linear weld mode in Beacon app

0:00

now let's teach a linear weld

0:04

so on my device I'm going to make sure

0:07

that linear is highlighted

0:09

I can put the device down now

Using the Smart Puck control buttons

0:15

and now we'll be using these two buttons

0:18

on our high robotics smart Puck to

0:21

Define where the robot is going to go to

Programming weld start and end points

0:24

so I'll use this top button here

0:27

to move the robot around once I click

0:30

the button

0:31

and then the bottom button saves off

0:34

your point

0:35

so for our linear weld we're going to go

0:37

to the start of the linear welds and

0:38

click the blue button and then we're

0:40

going to go to the end of the linear

0:42

welds and click the blue button and as

0:44

we go you'll notice that points populate

0:46

here in the app so let's get started

Positioning the robot for first weld point

0:50

so I'm going to move it into position by

0:52

holding that green button

0:56

and then

0:58

when it's at the start of my linear

1:00

welds

1:01

I'll select the blue button

1:04

and then I click it again

Setting the second point to complete the weld path

1:06

bring it over to the second point

1:10

and click the blue button again and so

1:12

now we just created our first linear

1:14

weld so now that we've created the

Saving your linear weld program

1:16

linear welds

1:18

we're gonna save it

1:20

and we're going to create a new playlist

Creating playlists for production efficiency

1:22

with this part

1:25

and now on our operator box we can hit

Running your automated linear weld

1:28

play
