Regulated Metal Deposition (RMD®)

RMD is perfect for demanding applications like open-root pipe welding or fabricating thin materials. This weld process reduces the welding current to create a consistent metal transfer, allowing for easy puddle control and paving the way for consistent, uniform welds — with less spatter and fewer poor fitups.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Extremely Low Heat Input: Minimizes distortion and reduces burn-through risks.

  • TIG Replacement for Pipe Root Applications: Provides a reliable alternative to TIG welding, simplifying processes and improving efficiency.

  • Ideal for Bridging Gaps on Thin Materials: Creates clean, uniform welds even in challenging fit-up situations.

  • Reduced Spatter and Improved Fit-Up Tolerance: The RMD process reduces welding current for consistent metal transfer, ensuring better puddle control and uniform weld quality.

Applications

  • Industries: Open root, pipe, plate and vessel welding, heat exchangers, sheet metal fabrication, auto body repair, furniture, and commercial kitchen products.

  • Material Thickness: Designed for materials ranging from 24 gauge to 1/8 inch.
