This article is for robots running PolyScope X. If your robot runs PolyScope 5, see How to Move the Robot Arm to Its Packing Position (PolyScope 5).
This guide shows you how to fold the robot arm into its packing position before you ship it. The packing position keeps the arm small and steady on the pallet.
Before You Start
Remove all attachments and cables from the arm. See How to Pack Your Robot for Shipping.
Steps
Important
The arm moves twice. First it moves to its zero position, then it folds into the packing position. Keep everyone clear of the arm until it stops.
On the teach pendant, tap Application twice to see the full list, then tap Smart Skills.
Scroll down the list, then tap Put into Box. You can still use the skill if it is listed under Deactivated.
With one hand, lightly press and hold one of the yellow 3PE buttons on the teach pendant. Press it to the middle position.
The 3PE buttons work only in Manual mode. If the arm doesn't move, switch the teach pendant to Manual mode and enter the operator password (the default is
operator). With your other hand, tap Move to Position. Keep holding the 3PE button.
Press and hold Move To Position until the arm stops. Keep holding the 3PE button. If you let go of either button, the arm stops.
After the robot is in position, tap Ok, then let go of the 3PE button.
How to Verify
The arm should now be folded tight, close to its base.
