This article is for robots running PolyScope 5. If your robot runs PolyScope X, see How to Move the Robot Arm to Its Packing Position (PolyScope X).
This guide shows you how to fold the robot arm into its packing position before you ship it. The packing position keeps the arm small and steady on the pallet.
Before You Start
Make sure your robot runs PolyScope 5.24 or newer. The Put in Box button isn't in older versions. See How to Update the Robot Operating System (PolyScope 5).
Remove all attachments and cables from the arm. See How to Pack Your Robot for Shipping.
Steps
Important
The arm moves twice. First it moves to its zero position, then it folds into the packing position. Keep everyone clear of the arm until it stops.
On the teach pendant, tap Installation. Then tap General. Then tap Home.
Tap Put in box.
Press and hold Move robot to: Zero Position until the arm stops. If you let go, the arm stops.
On a UR20 or UR8 Long, also lightly press and hold one of the yellow 3PE buttons on the back of the teach pendant. Press it to the middle position. See UR20 3PE Switch Usage.
After the robot is in position, tap Continue.

How to Verify
The arm should now be folded tight, close to its base.
