In this exercise, you will learn how to use the Shift tool to create a Pattern of a Part in the Beacon Welding Software.

Once you have completed this exercise, learn how to use charts and data in Exercise 13

let's talk about shifting and patterning

0:03

so first let's set up our original part

0:05

here

0:09

going to create a linear weld first

0:15

a radio weld second

0:23

and then another linear weld at the end

0:25

here

0:33

I'll hit save

0:37

and so now what we want to do is utilize

0:39

that same weld process but on a

0:42

different location on the table

0:44

you have two options you can either

0:47

shift it which would be moving those

0:49

points over here

0:50

or you can pattern them such that you'll

0:53

have your points over here as well as

0:55

your points over here

0:57

so I'm going to select all these points

1:00

that I want to pattern

1:04

I'm going to hit the shift icon

1:09

and then all we need to do now is select

1:11

a new origin point so I'm going to

1:13

select the start of that first linear

1:15

weld

1:22

hit the blue button

1:24

hit apply

1:26

and then hit pattern points

1:32

it's going to prompt me to put an air

1:34

move in the middle of those points as

1:36

well so let's put an air move in the

1:38

middle here

1:44

and now I'm all done so let's hit play

1:51

you'll see it do that first part that we

1:54

programmed

1:56

and then it'll go to our air move

2:00

and now it'll do the second part

2:03

so I only had to program one part and

2:05

then I can Pat it them to as many

2:07

different locations on the system as I

2:09

want
