In this exercise, you will learn how to edit a part in the Beacon Welding software.

Once you have completed this exercise, learn how to use the Shift tool to move a part in Exercise 11

Transcript

Introduction to part editing capabilities

0:00

so you've created your part but now you

0:02

want to edit it

0:04

so let's adjust that first point

Selecting and navigating to existing weld points

0:07

I'm going to select 1A

0:11

I'm going to tell the robot to move to

Using "Move Here" to position robot at saved points

0:13

that location by selecting the move here

0:15

icon

0:18

and then holding my blue button

Understanding original point positions

0:23

so that's the original point we taught

0:25

but if we needed to tweak the torch

0:27

angle or how far it was away from the

0:29

point or anything else about it

Using "Touch Up" for precise point adjustment

0:32

we can hit this touch up icon

0:36

then that allows us to reteach that

0:38

point

0:39

so I'm going to tweak the torch angle

Fine-tuning torch angle and position

0:42

and then click my blue button again

0:44

so the position of that first point is

0:46

now adjusted

Editing weld parameters in the interface

0:48

but in the screen what we can also do

0:50

are change weld settings or weld

0:52

processes

0:54

so I can click on any of these values

Adjusting wire feed speed settings

0:56

let's click on wire feed speed for

0:59

example

1:01

and I can drop that to 500

Modifying travel speed for optimization

1:04

I can select the travel speed

1:08

I can even tell it to weave just by

Enabling weave function for wider coverage

1:11

toggling The Weave to the on position

1:14

let's hit save

1:16

and now next time I hit play for that

Testing edited program with new parameters

1:18

first weld it's going to incorporate

1:20

those new values

1:30

I'll stop it there

1:33

some other things you can do if you hit

Advanced editing: inserting new moves mid-program

1:35

the wand icon in the top right of the

1:38

screen

1:40

you can use these little plus icons to

Adding air moves between existing weld sequences

1:42

insert another weld move or move

1:45

sequence or anything else you'd like to

1:47

add so let's add

1:51

a move sequence in between B and C just

1:54

by hitting that icon

Seamless integration of new moves into existing programs

1:57

and we'll just have the robot come up in

1:59

the air here

2:02

so now I've added an air move in between

2:04

my first linear Weld and then my next

2:06

radial weld
