Beacon now has AI baked into the system to provide time saving assistance informed by the vast data contained within our ecosystem. This article will teach you how to benefit from this cutting edge feature!
Let's Get Started!
Recommended Weld Settings
When creating or editing Weld Settings for a part you will notice two new tabs on the form labeled “Assisted” and “Manual”. On the “Assisted” tab, Beacon will recommend a travel speed based on the other settings you’ve provided. If you prefer not to use the recommendation, you may use the “Manual” tab to enter your preferred values.
Beacon strives to recommend optimal speeds that will increase the robot's productivity and help save time dialing in these settings. As an emerging technology in our industry, AI recommendations are not always perfect; treat them as guidance, not certainties. Test and adjust the recommendations to work best for your needs.
Getting to the Assisted Tab
New Part
To access this while creating a new part, create the part as usual. After clicking "Next", you should be able to see the settings.
Note: If you have saved settings in your library, select "Enter Settings Manually".
Existing Part
To access this within an existing part, tap the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner of your part.
Then tap "Weld Settings".
Getting a Recommendation
First enter in your part settings then click the “Assisted” tab to enter your wire feed speed and voltage.
Once set, the information will be sent for a recommendation. You will see a spinner for the travel speed until a response is returned.
New recommendations will be made for each change to the part settings, wire feed speed, or voltage.
Be sure to add your feedback on the recommendation! This will help us improve the recommendations over time.
Recommended Cut Settings
When creating or editing Cut Settings for a part you will notice two new tabs on the form labeled “Assisted” and “Manual”. The assisted tab will automatically populate the cutter manufacturer's recommended settings based on your part details.
This will instantly get you their preferred settings without having to look them up, which will help you save time and get to teaching the part.
Beacon strives to recommend optimal settings, though there may not be a recommendation available for every combination of part settings that you use. Please treat the recommendations as guidance, not certainties. Test and adjust the recommendations to work best for your needs.
