The Beacon app and your robot require internet access. We recommend a wired Ethernet connection — it is the most reliable option.
This article lists the domains and ports Beacon needs. It is written for your IT department — share it with them when you set up your robot's network.
Firewall Requirements
If your company uses a firewall, allow outbound access to the domains and ports below. Beacon does not need any inbound ports open.
At minimum, allow the hirebotics domains. To use Beacon In-App Support, also allow the intercom domains.
The * in a domain is a wildcard — it allows all subdomains. For example, *.hirebotics.io allows api.hirebotics.io, files.hirebotics.io, and any other subdomain.

Beacon In-App Support
These domains are for Beacon's in-app Support feature. It lets you chat with the Beacon team and read help articles inside the app.
If you can't allow the Intercom domains, you can still email the Beacon team at support@hirebotics.com or read the help articles at help.hirebotics.com.

Configure Your Robot's Network
Your robot's teach pendant has its own network settings. Follow the guide for your robot's operating system:
How to Verify
If the teach pendant shows Network is connected, the robot has a valid network connection. This does not, however, verify the outbound firewall rules. If the robot connects to the network but shows offline in Beacon, ask your IT department to confirm the firewall rules above.
