The Beacon URCap lets you program your robot with a supported device without robotic knowledge. Occasionally, you may need to manually uninstall the Beacon URCap when upgrading to newer versions or when asked by Beacon Support.

Uninstall Beacon URCap for PolyScope 5
In 2025, Universal Robot's introduced PolyScope X, a new major version to their operating system as a successor to PolyScope 5. PolyScope X requires new controller hardware. This section is specific to PolyScope 5.
On the teach pendant at the top-right, tap
to open the menu.
Tap Settings.
Tap System.
Tap URCaps.
In the Active URCaps section, select Beacon then tap the minus icon (-) to remove it.
Tap Restart.
Note, to use Beacon with your robot, the URCap must be installed.
