If fault <code>C203A0</code> appears after a Beacon URCap install or update, this is expected — this article will fix it.

Fault code <code>C203A0</code> on the teach pendant

The robot arm in fault state — programs won't run

When you turn the robot on, it loads an installation for your application — for example, <code>welding_program</code> for a Cobot Welder. Load the <code>default</code> installation first. You'll change its safety settings, then load your application installation again.

On the teach pendant, tap Open in the top-center. Choose Installation.

Choose the installation file labeled default.

When prompted about the Safety Configuration, tap Apply and Restart.

When prompted to override the current installation file, tap Use for Now.

The robot restarts with the default installation loaded.

1. On the teach pendant, tap Open in the top-center. Choose Installation.
2. Go to the top folder.
3. Choose the installation file labeled default.
4. When prompted about the Safety Configuration, tap Apply and Restart.
5. When prompted to override the current installation file, tap Use for Now.
 
 The robot restarts with the default installation loaded.

With the default installation loaded, set the safety inputs to Unassigned. Then load your application installation again.

On the teach pendant, tap Installation in the top-left.

Expand the Safety section. Tap I/O.

Enter the safety password (<code>ursafe</code>). Tap Unlock.

On <code>config_in[0]</code> and <code>config_in[1]</code>, choose Unassigned from the menu.

In the top-center, tap Open. Choose Installation.

Go to your application installation and select it:

- Welding: <code>applications → com.hirebotics.beacon.welding → welding_program</code>
- Cutting: <code>applications → com.hirebotics.beacon.cutting → cutting_program</code>

Tap the menu icon in the top-right. Tap Restart.

1. On the teach pendant, tap Installation in the top-left.
2. Expand the Safety section. Tap I/O.
3. Enter the safety password (<code>ursafe</code>). Tap Unlock.
4. On <code>config_in[0]</code> and <code>config_in[1]</code>, choose Unassigned from the menu.
5. Tap Lock.
6. Tap Apply and Restart.
7. Tap OK.
8. Tap Confirm Safety Configuration.
9. In the top-center, tap Open. Choose Installation.
10. Go to your application installation and select it:
 - Welding: <code>applications → com.hirebotics.beacon.welding → welding_program</code>
 - Cutting: <code>applications → com.hirebotics.beacon.cutting → cutting_program</code>
11. Tap Apply and Restart.
12. Tap the menu icon in the top-right. Tap Restart.

After the restart, fault <code>C203A0</code> should not appear. The robot arm starts up normally.

If the fault returns, repeat Change the Safety Settings. The most common causes:

An input wasn't fully set to Unassigned.

The application installation loaded too early.
