How to Set Your Robot's Passwords (PolyScope X)

Set the administrator, operator, and safety passwords on your Universal Robots cobot running PolyScope X, using the teach pendant.

Written by Doug Ayers

This article is for robots running PolyScope X. If your robot runs PolyScope 5, see How to Set Your Robot's Passwords (PolyScope 5).

Your Universal Robots cobot uses three separate passwords — administrator, operator, and safety. Each one unlocks a different part of the robot. This guide shows you how to change each one on PolyScope X.

Important

The passwords cannot be reset if they are forgotten. Keep a copy in a safe place. If you are locked out, the robot's SD card must be reflashed and the software reinstalled, with risk of data loss.
